WHY I STARTED THIS BUSINESS...

 

I was living in Oliver B.C. in 1990.  My mom came up to see me and told me she had developed Parkinson's.  I had 5 acres and was living in the original house, very run down.  So we decided that I would sell and move to the island and as a family we would buy property with 2 homes, my brother and family in one and Mom and I in the other.  We found the Palmer Road property, bought it and many years and changes later we're still here.  I worked away from home until Mom needed someone to be home with her full time.  I now needed something to do at home.  Friends of Mom and Dad lived just down the road from us and they operated a cattery.  They wanted to retire and go back to Holland.  So in 1993 the cattery on this property was built.  I loved the cattery, so many different cats, it was not a job it was a pleasure.

9 years ago my arthritis was getting so bad that I could not do all the cleaning for the cattery, so I had to close it down.  Over the years, I have taken in cats in my spare bedroom, mostly old customers.  I have now turned that room into an "official" cat room.  So I still continue the same services of the cattery, but just on a smaller scale.

I have over 25 years experience and I don't plan on stopping any time soon!
